👋 A 5-minute hack that has transformed our bedtime stories. Yup, it uses AI! ✨

Kids love bedtime stories. It also helps them turn the day's adventures into long-term core memories. One fun tradition we've had with the kids is to collectively write and read a story before they go to bed. Here's how we do it:

Dad: "Each of you pick an animal as your companion" / Kids: "Unicorn! 🦄 Sloth! 🦥" / Dad: "What did you like doing the most this weekend?" / Kids: "The farmer's market!"

Prompt: "Write a children's book about a boy and a girl with imaginary companions that seem real to them. The boy's companion is a sloth. The girl's companion is a unicorn. They go on an adventure at the local farmer's market where they learn about what it means to support the community and eat fresh fruit and vegetables. Illustrate the pictures in the style of Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes, a comic book series rendered in colorful watercolor washes."

We use Google Gemini because there is a "storybook" mode that does exactly this. Enjoy!
